NH3 refrigeration engine rooms

Ammonia refrigeration plants are currently one of the most impressive, low-maintenance and environmentally friendly solutions. Ammonia as a refrigerant has many advantages, including:

  1. High energy efficiency – ammonia is one of the most energy efficient refrigerants.
  2. No negative impact on the environment – decomposes very quickly in the atmosphere.
  3. Low price of ammonia – it is much cheaper than synthetic refrigerants.
  4. Smaller pipe diameter – smaller pipe diameters are required for ammonia installations than for chemical agents.
  5. Efficient heat exchange – compared to chemical agents, ammonia has a much higher heat transfer, which allows smaller heat exchangers to be used.
  6. Easy leak detection – even small concentrations of ammonia in the air are easily detectable due to the characteristic odour.

We design our engine rooms to be fully safe by installing ammonia detectors, powerful exhaust fans and integrated emergency systems. Based on pressure vessels and cooling units of our own production, we are able to adapt their size individually to each installation. In this way, even during servicing, it is not necessary to stop operation of the entire plant but only one device. One of the greatest advantages of our NH3 plants is the use of control automation, which includes: automatic valves, controllers, sensors, detectors, etc. Our plants are thus able to operate automatically, adjusting the output themselves to the parameters set on the operator panel. They therefore require only limited operator supervision to check for correct operation.
