The cooling installation in ZPM Sokółka SM Mlekpol owes its operation to 2 J.S. cooling units. Cooling with a total cooling capacity of 1650 kW.
By spreading the work over two units, it is possible to shut down one of them for maintenance or repair without having to stop the whole plant. J&E Hall's screw compressors operating in our units draw gas from POC tanks with a capacity of over 10,000 litres. Plate heat exchangers with a total cooling capacity of 3800 kW were used for heat exchange.
In the system, cooling is provided by water and glycol. They are stored in tanks also manufactured by our company - a vertical glycol tank and an AOW tank with evaporators allowing for additional cooling of the ice water. The ammonia is condensed by spray condensers located on the roof of the engine room to save space
